I've encountered this happening in a 'too late' sense through customers before (ie. bug is dead), but this is the first time it's happened with my screen.

I noticed a bug moving around inside the screen, about 1-2mm in length in total, what I'd refer to as a thunderbug. The common wisdom for fixing this situation is to switch the screen off and put a light source near a side of the screen, the logic being that the bug will go towards the light and get out eventually. Quick versions of this didn't work (ie. while I watched, and when the screen is off you can't see the bug), so when I left the house for my afternoon appointments I set up a lamp about a metre away (and on the same side as the natural light source in the room) and pointed it at the side of the screen.
I tried about 2.5 hours later and the bug appears to be gone, fingers crossed.
