Bug in the buddy list

For one reason or another I can not send NFS4 a PM.
When i click on his name in my buddy list I get this error

No messages have been found or you are not authorized to view this message.

Should I be able to just send him a PM that way? I was able to send one to anyone else on my list despite not having any prior messages stored.

I have only tried this when Brandon is on the forums.

I can send NFS4 a PM, but I have the same problem with Zuni.

Zuni is on my buddy list and next to his name instead of the little person (blue or yellow/orange indicating whether the person is offline or online) it is a blinking new PM thing instead. As well, I get the same error that you get when you try to send NFS4 a PM.

I took a screen shot of what I see: here

Zuni has the new PM thing next to his name and when I click on him to send a PM I get the same error taht you get when you try to send a PM to NFS4.

Darnit. I thought I had a fix for this but it didn't work. I was gonna remove Zuni from my buddy list then re-add him. But when I try to remove him, I get an error screen that either says "this page cannot be found" or "Error Occurred While Processing Request" and then tells me to contact support@anandtech.com

I can remove/add any other person but Zuni. Weird error

Yes....the read messages from buddies are not clearing (in a sense). This is why a padlock shows by their name. The "old" "mark all messages read" button used to take care of this. Boy......I miss that button.

I'm bumping this thread back up because I just started experiencing the same thing. One of my buddy's icons keeps flashing even though there are no messages from him.

When I click on it I get a pop up window with this:

No messages have been found or you are not authorized to view this message.

Zuni ??

Hmmm...maybe he has you on his banning list?????

I went into my profile and turned the buddy list off for a while. Had my friend who's icon was blinking log off and log back on. When turned the buddy list back on it was back to normal.

I had the exact same problem with Roger on my list. I deleted him, then re-added him, and it seems fine now.

Until recently you couldn't even do that to fix the problem. At first if you tried to delete the user with the lock icon next to them you got a 404 message.
