Bug in my LCD!

Somehow a tiny bug has gotten into my LCD and I can see it crawling around my screen! It looks to be about 3 pixels long and maybe one pixel wide. I think that the bug is behind the LCD panel and I can see him by the shadow cast from the backlight. The effect is about 3 greyed out pixels. I hope the bug doesn't die in there and stay stuck - he's about in the middle of my screen right now :Q

Anyone else ever have this happen to them?

I thought it might be some sort of virus on my computer, but I booted up to a live Ubuntu CD and the bug was still there crawling slowly around.

Edit: Crap! The bug stopped moving, almost in the middle of my screen...hopefully he will disintegrate into nothing over time - right now the bug has effectively greyed out 2 or 3 pixels..

I'm very sorry that it happened to you! However, I must admit though, this is VERY cool.

Maybe you should leave your monitor off for the time being and let it die and fall off to the bottom of the panel?

Really sorry to hear that, but I just couldn't help but laugh 😉

I would suggest leaving the LCD off for a day or two and perhaps the bug will leave/go to the bottom?

That sucks, but you've got to admit thats pretty damn funny. You could try turning off all the lights then taking a flashlight and shining it on the side or something since bugs are attracted to light. Probably why he went in there in the first place.

This has happened with my 56" DLP, had a bug running around on screen for about 5 hrs at one time. Eventually he left

looks like the tiny bug died, right in the middle of the screen (it hasn't moved for several hours). I'm out of town the rest of the week, and will leave my monitor off and hopefully it will crawl away (if its still alive), or will fall down to the bottom. I guess that's one advantage of a CRT - no way for bugs to crawl inside!

what about the vents in a CRT? also, there are sealed LCDs out there (to prevent dust from getting in, but I guess bugs would also be kept out).
