They are looking for a place to shack up for the winter.

i have the heebie jeebies now. Im going to continue spraying these bastards till they all drop! ]

I can see there shadows dropping dead right now through the window shade from the poison spray.

There has to be about 40 of them dead from the picture i showed now.

Box Elders.

They like small areas so if you insulate it / remove their homes you will see less each year. But they are a bastard to remove. Big problem in MN.

yup box elders. They don't bite. Honestly, I don't know their purpose except to crawl on everything.

Box elder bugs. They go into mating season in the fall and congregate by the thousands on warm surfaces such as your siding, before they go lay eggs under your siding.

I try to be kind to most animals, even insects, and occasionaly spiders. But I hate box elder bugs with a passiona and every fall I attempt to kill as many of them as I can.

Edit: Poison to kill them is unnecesarry. A mild soap solution sprayed on them will kill them. Just use a sprayer on your hose with the jug attachment, and put some dish soap in there.

I hate those damn things. they get on the south side of all the houses. just get some soapy water and spray the area down. that usually gets them gone for a while.

I get infestations of them every October. There are MANY box elder maples in my area, so, we get tons of box elder bugs to go along with them.
