Buffy-less Buffy?

Looks like there is a backup plan for when Gellar leaves this year. . .

linky MAY CONTAIN SPOILER-LIKE INFORMATION

Any Buffy fans? Anyone still care? Anyone. . . [cricket sound] chirp [/cricket sound]

I would be ok with it if Faith came back, would make a lot more sense then giving it to Dawn...

yeah... a series spinoff with faith would probably be the best possible outcome if the show ended this season. I would love to see it continue, but it's not very likely. This past season has really gotten back to the series roots, and is much better writing and story-wise than the dismal 6th season. Just my $0.02 worth.

My wife is completely addicted.... I will watch out of the corner of my eye, but I can't say I am a follower.

That article just gave away a lot of information I would have rather not known. :frown:

I love the idea of Faith coming back, but obviously I'd rather Buffy stay.

Sorry about that. I edited the message to note possible spoilers.

The Buffy Show Lost Faith?

:Q

😀

Um, perhaps it'll be a Vamp-lesbo-Slayer "team" . . . Dawn and Faith . . . 😉

The move has fueled a rumor that rival netlets UPN and the WB are finally ready to bury their stakes and allow Buffy's undead dreamboy Angel to make an appearance on what could be the series' final episode in May

It will really suck for Whedon if Buffy and Angel both get canned. Three series canceled in one year would have to be a record. . .

Strange... I've always heard rumors of Faith showing up on Angel since she was last seen on that show. Heck, in the last ep they mentioned her directly when Angelus was speaking with Wesley.

I figure make sense to bring in all those "Slayer-ettes" if one of them ends up as the next Slayer... and Whedon has always said the Buffy might continue with another Slayer... could be Faith, could be another girl esp if Buffy dies in the finale like she should.

i really hope they continue the series

this was was the best one in a while

i think angel has gotten a little too far fetched (angel's son mainly) and not as good as the first 2 seasons which IMO were great also

New Info!!!

from CNN:

HOLLYWOOD, California (Variety) -- Sarah Michelle Gellar's done with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

The actress has confirmed to producer Joss Whedon something most industry insiders have assumed for months -- namely, that this season will be her last with the UPN series, according to people connected to the show.

Her departure also likely means "Buffy," at least in its current incarnation, will wrap in May, something that's also not much of a shocker, given the show's apocalyptic storylines this season.

Still to be decided: whether the producers and UPN will proceed with a new "Buffy" spinoff, or whether the franchise will simply end. WB Entertainment president Jordan Levin said Tuesday he's hopeful but not certain that "Angel," a "Buffy" spinoff launched in 1999, will be back next fall.
