Buffing?

I got my car, a 1999 Camry, from my mom about 5 months ago, and I'm now to the point where the only thing I need to fix on it is the paint job. There are spots where the car has lost it's "sheen", spots where I guess oil/grease/some black compound got on it and never wiped away, so they're are stuck there, and just random smudges all over it. Nothing that looks permanent just things that look like they need to be hard scrubbed away, and my own attempts have yielded no positive results.

Now I had the front bumper replaced and they had to paint it, so they buffed part of the front of the car, and it looks fantastic comapred to the rest, so I'm wondering, if I get the whole car buffed will that clear up some of the other problems? Also, what's a good price for getting it buffed? I was quoted $79.99 for my car to be buffed, as well as fully cleaned. Is that any good? I have the money to pay for it but I don't want to spend nearly $100 bucks without getting anything worth while out of it, lol.

There are going to be many different opinions here but clay bar/multi-stage buffing usually does a good job. It's that multistage buffing that takes a lot of time. You are going to need to go over the car multiple times with multiple products. For that price I can guarantee there is no clay bar which the car probably needs from what you said.

pay someone $200 to fully detail your car, including paint correction. i'm saying this because it seems like you have no experience doing it. it's pretty tough and the products are pretty costly. it will look great afterwards too.
