The title basically explains it all.. I'm getting buffer underrun errors while trying to record music cds. The weird thing is.. the program used to work fine! I am completely stumped! Here's my setup...

Celeron 300a@450 default voltage
192MB generic PC100 ram
Raite 8x DVD (master) on secondary IDE w/ HP 9350i (slave)
20GB Maxtor 7200rpm
Voodoo3 3000
SoundBlaster PCI128
3Com 10bt network card

Software:
Adaptec Easy CD Creator 5.0 PLATINUM w/ Direct CD

The errors always happen 2% into writing the cd for whatever reason. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I've searched and searched and can't find anything.

Thanks!
Justin

What OS?? If you're using W9X, be sure to have DMA enabled. System Properties - Device manager - CDrom - Properties - Settings.

Are you burning CD to CD? If so, both drives are on the same bus. It would probably be better to put the DVD drive on Primary Slave. Otherwise, you can image it the HD first and leave you're drives the way they are. It all depends on which way you burn discs.

I would also suggest different software like Leon said. I prefer Padus Disc Juggler, but Nero isn't a bad choice either. I think Disc juggler supports multiple tracks written in the same session, or something like that. It can create backups of some copy protected CDs that other programs can't.

Nero works fine, however it can't convert MP3's to .wav's on the fly like Easy CD Creator can.. :( Are there any other programs that can?

youre not running any other programs (games or something like that) or a lot of background programs while you burn by any chance, are you?
