Buffer Overrun Protection Does Not Kick In?

Using Nero 6.3, I see "Seamless-Link Activated" when I burn CD-Rs, but not when I burn DVD+Rs. A buffer underrun did kill a burn at 8X. Is there something preventing it from being enabled on DVD+Rs?
