"buffer overrun detected" from BOINC

For no obvious reason, BOINC has suddenly started getting a window pop up whenever I turn it on:
---------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Buffer overrun detected!

Program C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinc.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safetly continue execution and must now be terminated
---------------------------------------------------

I've not changed anything to my system, and it just started happening... I uninstalled and reinstalled BOINC, but still get the same error.

I ran the HotCPU Pro diagnostic, and returned no errors. Also ran a virus scan and spyware scan... nothing there either.

What the heck could be causing this? Anyone know a fix? I usually run BOINC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I hate not being able to put my system to some useful task.

As stated in the initial post, I already uninstalled and reinstalled. It's the most current version on the BOINC website. I guess I'll try installing to a different directory or something.
