i ordered two routers last week and waited for time warner roadrunner cable to come. it came today and i tried configure which failed me all the time. the address stated 192.168.11.1 via setup (provided by buffalo.)

what did i do:
set up both routers as bridging (one in the first floor and the other in my room)
setup failed me all the time
192.168.11.1 failed me all the time
i don't know why i'm online but can't configure all crap

any suggestions?

You should explain better your Network's topology.

Two Routers as Bridges, what are they connected to?

What is providing the signal?

i figured it out. one router remains a router and the other one as bridge. it works now.

ok back to the topic, buffalo technology offers AOSS technology which doesn't use encryption. should i really go for it or use WPA-PSK AES? (the others are WEP 64bit, WEP 128bit and WPA-PSK TKIP.)

AOSS is a configuration that can be used to automatically set the Wirelesl encryption if you are using Buffalo AOSS capable Wireless card.

Otherwise use WPA-AES.

i've set to wpa-psk aes.

i set bridge's port to 192.168.11.151 but buffalo's interface looks confusing. i've checked ezlan and i think it is not very resourceful. are there any tutorials to connect to bridge other than ezlan?

The Buffalo as is can not work as a Bridge, it just does WDS.

If you need it as Bridge you need to Flash the Router with 3rd party firmware.

Instruction for Flashing and how to set as a bridge are in the firmware page, the links are on the ezlan page.

hyperwrt was not updated for the current Buffalos Wireless.

Between tomato and dd-wrt it is a Toss Up, Read thier info on their site and decide upon whatever you need.
