Buffalo WHR-G54S Wireless Router $33 @ Chiefvalue

Once flashed with DD-WRT or Open-WRT this is a great router, but default Buffalo firmware is a little lacking. I just picked one up from newegg last week for $39.99 shipped to replace my old crappy Netgear MR814 and it works much much better.

Sweet... But it looks like Buy.com has this for $44.14 - $10 (Google checkout) with free shipping so $34.14 shipped.

buy.com for $44.14

Ordered from Buy.com via Google checkout. $37.34 w/tax shipped (in CA). Not bad. 🙂

Now someone please recommend to me a good adaptor card. USB or PCI?? I'm a complete idot when it comes to this stuff.

I too just got mine from buy.com w/ GC the other day and love it.. so much so that I have been tempted to get another, but not sure what I'd do with it 😛 on a certain thread i saw elsewhere, it appears the WHR-G54S might be better than the more expensive HP model in some ways.

Maybe I can get another just as backup... but would hate to have it sitting sealed in box collecting dust, serving no purpose and then a newer, better model comes out...

anyway, it's a great choice and cheaper than the Linksys WRT54GL I was looking at (or whatever the model number is of that linux version)... pretty much the same memory and capabilities afaik...

Came out to $34.14 with GC from Buy.com. Had to delete my cookies for GC to showup as an ordering option.

i would get this in a flash, if someone can tell me that this has no problems with online play? i have the netgear WGT624v3 and it reboots by itself irregularly when playing specifically Age of Conquerors, can anyone confirm that this router can host and play games smoothly?

thanks in advance!
