I have a friend who's got a hp 8200i and he's using Nero, can't remember what version offhand.

Just lately he's having major problems burning discs. When attempting to burn the readings say "1%, 2%, 3% ..." and then it freezes. When attempting to check out Task Manager in NT4 for the problem details it says "Not responding ..."

So, what's up with this? In all probabilities is it hardware or software related? Probably a mixture of both huh?

Do HP burners have this reliability type problem after 1-2 years?
