I saw this Bud Select at the store yesterday,
and bought a 12 pack of Bottles.

Just opened one up,and it tastes fine.

Anybody else tried this yet?

http://www.abwholesaler.com/StraubDistributing/Products/BudSelect

Budweiser Select is a new kind of beer brewed for a crisp taste and no aftertaste, with only 99 calories and 3.1g of carbohydrates.

From the unique blend of imported and domestic hops and roasted specialty malts all the way to the upscale "pinch neck" APL bottle, Budweiser Select has been hand crafted to set it apart from all other beers. Budweiser Select is created using an extended brewing process that features double the time in the brew house. This extended brewing converts more of the starch from the malt and cereal grains into fermentable sugar for use by the yeast.

Altogether, this welcomed addition to the Budweiser family of beers is a complete package for the beer consumer backed by a tradition of excellence that is Budweiser.

Just another "light" beer in fancy packaging with a price to match?

Caveman, do you drink "decent" beer at all? Or anything with an actual taste to it?

I've had Bud Select and it tastes like water, same thing with Aspen Edge and Michelob Ultra.

I've had it and thought it tastes pretty good. Granted I'm a college student and I don't drink the fancy beers.

When I drink, I like to drink beer that I can savor the taste of. Nothing with "Bud" on the can has done that in the past, and I see no reason to pay to try their latest swill, either.

12 fl oz bottles here.

Price was the same as regular Bud,so I thought I would give it a try.

I tired Micehlob Ultra, and did not care for that.

What would You suggest I buy the next time?

I have cut back on my drinking, and this is the first beer I bought in almost 2 years.

Buy a Saranac 12 Beers of Summer Mix Pack for under $12 and experiment with the 6 different styles of beer. (Or the Gritty's, Seadog for around the same price).

Here's a list of a couple of drinks you should try, although some of 'em are a bit more expensive.

Becks
Hoeegarden
Killian's Red
McSorley's Irish Ale
St. Pauli's Girl
Stella Artois
Warsteiner
Sam Adams (multiple variants)
Lowenbrau
Newcastle

That's just a small list to get you started. Just try something new out every now and then, and eventually you'll find some rich, enjoyable beer.

AKA the Miller Lite wannabe beer.

Basically, Bud Light began to lose a sustained 5.5 share to SABMiller in the light beer category (Miller's commercials have been working over the past 3-4 quarters) as beer drinkers realized Bud Light is piss compared to Miller Lite (which isn't much better, but has a darker color and more taste.)

So AB created Bud Select to have more taste...and Miller called them out on it!! In fact, one of the Miller ads (wasn't approved) purportedly compared Bud Select to "New Coke" but asked "if they had just replaced Bud Light, would anyone miss it?"

Many of the bigger stores in your area carry a large selection of craft beers. The better ones will have 12 packs cheap.
The best ones will allow you to mix your own six packs and give you 10% off.

If you find a store like that . pick singles of these beers up..(i love em anyway)

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Three Floyds Aphan King Pale Ale (orgasmically yummy !)
Anderson Valley Amber Ale
Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA
Blue Moon (try with a slice of orange)
Brooklyn Chocolate stout (if you like coffee, expresso, and bitter dark chocolate)

All those are serious complex beers with Oodles of taste!

I love living in Rochester--beer is cheaper here than anywhere else I've ever been. Piss pitchers (Bud/Bud Light, Molson/Molson Light, Labatt/Blue Light) are only $6 most nights at most bars. Not hard to find good microbrew pitchers for $7 or $8, and a few places even have Yuengling pitchers on special for $6 some nights.

Oh yeah...beer at grocery stores is ridiculously cheap too...esp. Canadian beer. I buy Blue Light for $7.99/12 pack with a store shopper card...that special is perpetual I think (regular price is $8.99/12 pack.) And these are bottles...not cans!

Well then I can see you can appreciate a decent beer, so why are you trying Bud Select?

Its just the same fermented clydesdale piss the rest of their beer is. Why did they need to make a new product? Cause bud light sucks?

Miller > Bud
