Budget Video Solutions Help

Hello all,

I have a P2-450 that currently has a Riva TNT2 Ultra AGP video card. I would like to install a DVD-ROM and a video card that supports hardware DVD playback so that I can use the computer as a very simple multimedia center (it already runs a TV tuner). If memory serves, the mobo is an intel-bx-440 or thereabouts with at least 1x AGP. I would like to find a budget video card in the <$75 range if possible that can accomplish the task of playing DVDs smoothly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on any good cards for this purpose? Thank you in advance for your knowledge and assistance.

Put a Radeon 9200 in. These still are backward compatible to older mainboards, draw little power, are fanless, and have excellent DVD hardware assist and very adjustable and nice quality TV-out.

Even a Radeon 7500 should be able to do all of that ... IIRC they still have MPEG2 hardware, but I may be wrong.
