I was wondering what kind of video card to buy.
i'm a student and i'm not terribly loaded.

so what would be the best card under 70 dollars, or under 120 dollars

You'll find the same responses here as in your first thread probably.

(Please don't make multiple threads on the same topic)

I only posted again because i thought this would be a better catogory to post under.
Didn't mean to offend.

I'm not offended at all, it's just kind of a rule over here to only start one thread per topic. Just letting you know.

I posted some 6600gt cards with rebates that get close to your range in the other thread.

Minimum ATI 9550
better ATI 9600 Pro
good ATI 9800 Pro or 6600 GT

Other ones are kind of expensive anyway. You're better off using places like pricegrabber.com to look for prices because sometimes there are huge price differences for the same card.

BTW, I think I saw a 6600 GT on sale for $130 US at monarchcomputer.com but that was with a $30 rebate.
I still think 9800 Pro is acceptable against the 6600 GT. Although it doesn't have shader model 3 like a lot of people will say, I think some people are doing selective reasoning. I've seen very mixed benchmarks between the 9800 Pro, 6600 GT and X700 Pro (PCI-E) and either one of the three were ahead by a few frames per second in different games. In other words, depending on the game and resolution (and with or without AA), all three were trading places as top performer if you know what I mean. If you don't believe me, look at the following link:
