I've just bought Silent Hunter III which has refused to run on my computer, which has made me accept my GeForce 2 MX can't quite hack it any more. So I'm looking for a new graphics card, which i can spend about £60-70 (incl. VAT) on (ideally the lower figure :) ) in the UK. I probably won't be using it for the latest fps games (or i would have had to upgrade before now), but i would like to be able to run sims and rts games easily.

One card I've looked at is the Radeon 9600XT here, but all advice is welcome.

Thanks in advance!

edit: connection is AGP

A good site for buying video cards in the UK is Komplett. I'd seriously recommend that you get a 6600 or 6600GT, its a very good card and its at a very reasonable price. For a little bit cheaper you could get a radeon 9800 pro, I have one and its pretty good in all games (Unreal 2004, Doom 3, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory etc...), but the 6600GT is faster (I'm not sure about the 6600 vanilla).

Radeon 9800 pro, £100
6600GT, £129

I've found this, which seems to be good value. Any problems forseen (fitting it to a 2001 Dell Dimension 8200)?

i got the asus 9600xt, which is probably the fastest one, the 9800 pro is noticeably faster
