Hi Guys! Haven't posted in ages, but I fancy 'splurging' (Some money) on my PC.

The specs can be found here, what could I do for less than £150 (I'm in the UK, so I accept pricing discrepancies).

I'm after a tangible increase in games, not just benchmarks, and not second hand items please.

Any ideas what-so-ever are welcome! TIA Daniel:)

I'm pretty sure he would be better off with a new video card.

EDIT: Didn't see that he modded the 6800LE.

Really dont know what your looking for here, suppose it depends on your definition of tangible. Personally i would save and jump to PCI-E later on. My definition of tangible wouldnt be stick in an X850 or another gig of ram as the performance benefit IMO wouldnt be worth it.

New video card. Might need a new PSU.

The cost of buying a decent replacement PSU and a better video card even when factoring in the sale of he old hardware would most likley be more than £150 here in the UK, unless B-Grade stuff was used, and he said he didnt want second hand stuff.

OP i think you should consider some second hand stuff, overclockers.co.uk usually have a lot of B-grade items that are pretty decent. Ebuyer is also okish, but i dont think they have anything better than a modded 6800 LE for a low price. As long as theres a manufacturers warrenty its fine.

Thats my home forum lol! No as far as I know nothing there beats the card I have. As far as I could tell my only options are a raptor, which aint hardly going to help, or another gig of DDR. Would the extra RAM make any difference, even in 3DMarks?

Dan, I'm in the UK aswell, and there are some other sites that I've bought stuff from, and some do things cheaper than others, so it's worth checking around them when you're going to buy stuff. I hate OcUK's postage costs!

Anyway,

TCS
YoyoTech

For £150, it's pretty tough to get good performance gains. You could spend some cash making the machine quiter?

OcUK have the best price on a Scythe Ninja Plus, they're all pretty similar on the Tt Big Typhoon. Maybe get some Arctic Silver 5. Could get some Acousti fan mounts from mediapc.tv (that's a reasonable site too price wise), suspend your hard disks with shoe laces, tidy up the wiring and things. Might allow a slightly better OC if you haven't got a good aftermarket HSF already, and if not, you may like the extra quietness?

Just a thought. :)
