You need PC2700 Ram, not PC2100. I like Buffalo Tech....about same price as Value select and more bang for the buck easily :)


As for the mobo, Im not the big 8RDA+ fan like most...If your looking for a cheap Nforce2 solution, I like the Soltek NV400-L64.....it would also take advantage of your 1 stick of ram, although Dual channel is mostly hye anyways (less than 5% boost)

with onboard video you will want to have dual channel ram go for 2 sticks

Looks fine to me... If she is just doing home/small business type of work that will more than suit her needs and be a quick system for a long time.

Budmantom, this is a system for his mom. Getting a ti4200 would kinda pointless.

I have a ti4200 in my computer - trust me, she won't need it. actually, i didn't put a vid card in because later this year my dad might do some video capture work and i would get an all-in-wonder at that time.

so you think i should get 2x256 333 modules?

There are 3 slots, so i assume if i ran dual channel in 2, i could put more in the one later?
