Budget P4 system suggestions ?

I want to build a budget low cost P4 system suitable for CAD work and Gaming. I would use a P4 533 cache ( maybe the 2.4 ? ) Overclocking ability would be a plus but it is not a requirement as stability is most important . I am looking for motherboard and CPU recommendations. Again price is a major issue . - thanks

I would suggest: Abit BH7 mobo $81 with a P4 2.4 "retail" CPU $162, both from newegg. I recently built a system with this combo and it is solid as a rock.

I just did an upgrade on the wife's system using an Asus P4XP-X (Intel 845), $62.95 at: Atacom.com

The FSB runs at 400 or 533, will accomodate P4s up to 2.6 Ghz, takes PC133 or PC2100 RAM, has an excellent onboard 10/100 NIC, and onboard audio; not using the onboard audio so I can't vouch for it. It also has USB 1.1 and 2.0.

The system was easy to setup (no issues) and has been extremely stable...great bang for the buck mobo.

I would suggest going the AMD Route...ignore the name..I like intel too...but for what your trying to do you could really get a good AMD rig that would kick some a$$ and be cheaper then the p4 route
