Buy a new HSF if you plan on overclocking, cheapskate :D The retail fan on the 2500's I have used have run roughly 10-15* hotter than something like a slk800/sk7 with 30cfm fan. So...fine for normal speeds...but not great for OC.

Here's the thing... for my 1600+ I had A Volcano (60cmx60cm 5400rpm) on it, and then I bought an $8 80cmx80cm 4500rpm. It ran at 53 celcius at full load overclocked 1.4ghz @ 1.63. However, it was louder than the Volcano, even though it was supposed to be quiter.

Right now I got an:

FedEx just delivered my Epox 8RDA+, 2500+, and Corsair 512mb 2700.

I want a budget Fan, but I also don't want it to be loud... I'm not aiming for a big overclock, but if i can get the 1.83 to around 2ghz, i'll be satisfied. What are my options and what are their costs? Thanks ahead of time.

SVC GC68 is only $4.99 at SVC.com. Had one cooling my TBred 1700+ at 1.9ghz.

I have my 2500+ running at 2100mhz at 400mhz FSB, that's equivalent to a 3000+. The fan I'm using is a Thermaltake Volcano 10+. I got it from newegg for $25.

Depends on the stepping of the Barton...the newer 1's (AQXDA 0317XPMW) will hit 2.1GHz+ with stock HS/fans easily
