Thinking about this as a budget photoshop machine. Video encoding too. This is why I went Intel. I can't afford core 2 though.

One question. I have a pata harddrive already 7200 speed. This board only has one pata port. Any problem with using a pata harddrive and a sata dvd burner? I'm new to this SATA stuff.

Thanks for thoughts.

Remember - budget!!!

You shouldn't have any problems with the Sata burner. And looks like a nice setup. I myself am looking at getting the E2180, but with a Abit P35 Pro motherboard, because I plan on overclocking it alot. I don't know how the Intel board does with overclocking, but if you want to go the overclock route you might want to rethink getting the Intel one. As the E2180 overclocks real nice and it'd be a shame not to.

I have the same setup...no problems whatsoever with pata HDD and sata optical. Can boot off Sata drive no problem too. If you do want to OC, check into the Abit IP35-E. Nice OC board with that chip. Also might want to consider a little beefier PSU. The Antec Earthwatts can be had for a similar price to that FSP.

Does anyone know if the deal to get the HP memory for $9 AR is still around?
