Will be used for watching TV shows/movies, internet browsing, no games, nothing demanding. I already have an OS, TV, and peripherals. This computer will (99% certainty) never get a discreet video card, or any meaningful upgrades that would lead me to care about PSU capacity. My mom will probably store some pictures on it, but they won't be ripping blurays or anything really space intensive either. I've never seen them use more than like 200 gb of a hard drive. The TV is 720p, and I don't really have a brand preference. This is in the US, and I will build ASAP.
How do these parts look?
MSI 880GM-E41 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard ($56 open box)
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz ($89)
Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 ($40)
Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive ($60)
DVD drive/burner ($20)
Rosewill RNX-N150PC PCI 2.2 Wireless Adapter ($15)
Rosewill R379-M Black/ Silver 0.8mm SGCC Steel Slim MicroATX Computer Case with ATX12V Flex 300W Power Supply ($50)
Total: ~$330
Concerns:
I'm aware that the PSU sucks. But this computer's power usage will be very modest. Is that okay? If there's like a 20% chance it's gonna quit working and I'll have to replace it, that's fine. I'd rather save money now and take a chance. If it's like 90% to fail then of course I'll go with something better.
Never used a wireless adapter before. Just need one that works with some reliability (~25 ft). Is the one I picked okay?
I assume integrated graphics are good enough to watch movies and stuff. Correct? I might play SC (Broodwar) when I come home on it, but computers have been more than good enough for that for a decade and a half..
