Budget gaming pc, list of parts...

Hey, I've decided to build a new gaming pc and after doing some research I came up with these parts:

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
ViewSonic VX922 Black/Silver 19" 2ms LCD Monitor - Retail
MSI K9N Neo-F Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
XFX PV-T73G-UDD3 Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Orleans 2.0GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADA3200CNBOX - Retail
* (will use my old 1gb ram)

This pc will be used for school and playing BF2, the new BF200something, Oblivion and Dark Age of Camelot (a lot of dual logging). With keyboard and dvd burner comes out to a grand total of: $730

Any advice on what to change? My budget is around $750

dual core? well other then that it looks great...i prefer eVga cards cuz they have good warranties and have a step up program.

hmm, all looks well, though I don't how long that video card will hold up for Oblivion, granted I've never played the game on a 7600GT.

If you can, maybe try to look for a 7900GS, they were on woot for 139.99, when they hit etailers its supposed to be about $199.99, but wait and see, they may cut everyone a deal and drive prices a little lower. a 7900 GS would whoop a 7600GT, plus some overclocking factored in(if that's your thing).

Dual core? Can you link me to a good dual core processor on newegg?

X2 3800+ AM2

Just make sure your memory is DDR2 because that motherboard does not support the old DDR memory.

I'm putting a similar rig together for my bro and I am still debating the 1GB vs 2GB of RAM. He plays mainly CS:S. I have read through the pros and cons of having the extra RAM but I am still not too sure, is it worth the extra bucks to throw in the extra gig of RAM or not?

I switched a 2gb of PC3200 on my gaming rig a few months back because I was playing BF2 alot. I can tell a big difference vs 1gb.

I would recommend the 2gb if at all possible

I would recommend changing two things, not for better performance but for the same performance for less money. If you don't mind going open-box at Newegg, you can get an x850xt for $104 shipped. NE also has it for $121 shipped retail. It should give comprable performance to the 7600GT and cost a bit less. Also, I would recommend buying this monitor if you don't mind dealing with MIRs. If you use this promotion code (432732732), you'll get free shipping, and your total will come to $229.95. After $120 in MIRs, it'll be $109.95, which would save you a good chunk of change. You can see more details about the deal at this thread. We bought one of these for work, and it looks really good. I haven't gamed on it, so I can't personally attest to its level of ghosting, but I've heard good things about it.

I would also recommend perusing the FS/FT forums, because you can find some really good deals there sometimes.
