Is there an advantage to the dual 12v rail? One would run the mobo, while the Video card would get its own 12v rail, correct? Or do the video card and mobo still run off the same 12v rail? How does it work?

anyone? right now im leaning toward something with 350w or more and 12V@25A or more for around $50. Any suggestions? Should i consider dual rail? Also, im considering using the Asus A8V over the MSI for stability.

How does the dual 12v work? Its one for the mobo, and another for the CPU, right? OR is it one for the mobo/cpu, and one for the graphics card? Is 15A enough for just the mobo/cpu?

I like your attitude cmp1223. 🙂 Most people says, "Why can't I run my whole kitchen off of my five year old, 150 watt AT PSU?" :disgust:

The dual rail is one for the mobo (and thus the CPU) and one for everything else (including video card aux power).

Any PSU running dual rails is WAY over the top for most people. Extreme overclockers sometimes use them to try to stabilize the power on the mobo and thus get higher OCs.

Anubis's recommendation above is a good call. The Truepower series for Antec has a good rep. Personally, I'm using an Antec 480 watt TrueBlue (one of the big brothers to the 380) and it has been nothing but completely stable.

Final answer: You really don't need dual rails.
