Budget College PDA's

Since I've decided to bring my desktop to college, I'm thinking of buying a PDA so that I can bring it to class and type up the notes on the PDA instead of hand writing it down on paper. I know almost 0 about PDA's but I do have one that is about 5 years old. Its a Palm IIIc will that do as far as web browsing, word processing, music, videos, and good storage (hopefully at least 1gb)?

If not what would you prefer? I don't need nothing fancy. Don't need phone. But I do want a color touch screen.

again

-web browsing
-word processing
-address book
-emailing
-mp3
-videos
-good storage.

No, no, no, no, no.

I wouldn't bother, it'll probably just sit on your desk. PDA's are useless for taking notes anyways. But if you insist, just grab a cheap Dell Axim off of FS/T or eBay.

How are notebooks any better for taking notes?

Do PDA's today come with a word processing software? It probably depends on what you get but what are some examples?

you won't need a PDA to take notes for you during lectures in college. i might see one or two students with laptops taking notes with a laptop in each of my undergraduate classes.

if anything, a good digital voice recorder is more helpful. just take notes with a notepad

I see trend about PDA is fading fast and smartphone is taking over now. I have old basic Handspring Visor 6 years ago for my trip to Tokyo but now it is collecting dust. I don't think it is worth to buy it anymore.

PDA's don't make for good class note entries. They are too small for both entering data and viewing. Some have had better luck with tablet PC's, but they are expensive and it's just so much simpler to use pen and paper.
