1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing. Some auto racing gaming, not as mush as I used to do. I'm now getting into audio recording of my guitar so desire good processing speed.
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread ~$700
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from. USA, I've used Newegg before and plan on getting everything from them.
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc. I've used AMD and nVidia with good success, but I'm open.
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are. Current system is embarrassingly old
. I have a good monitor, that's about it.
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads. I reviewed this thread and am using many of page 4 items: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2132894
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds. Not planning on overclocking.
8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with. Been using 1080, but we'll see what the new system can do.
9. WHEN do you plan to build it? Ready to go once I finalize my choices.
Following is what I'm looking at. I chose this mobo as I need firewire for audio recording. (This firewire chipset is approved for my recording interface). Does this combination look OK? Think the power supply's adequate?
