Ok here I have a some memory picked out.

The MOBO seems to undervolt things from what I read on newegg. Seems to only go to 1.95v, can anyone confirm this? Because this will probably be my deciding factor in buying memory.

1.8v $162.99 DDR2 667
Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model KVR667D2N5K2/2G - Retail

1.8v $179.99 w/$20 rebate DDR2 667
Patriot 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail

1.8v 182.00 w/$30 rebate DDR2 675
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) System Memory - Retail

2.1v $254.00 DDR2 800
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail

Ok here is what I have based on your suggestions.

Budget of $1000

Total before tax and shipping $767.76

NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Beige IDE Model ND-3550A - Retail
NEC Beige 1.44MB 3.5" Floppy Drive - OEM
SAMSUNG SpinPoint P Series HD160JJ 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
MSI NX7600GT-VT2D256EHD Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail
ENERMAX Whisper II EG465P-VE FMA(24) ATX12V 460W Power Supply - Retail
Patriot 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model PDC22G5300LLK - Retail AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2000MHz HT Socket AM2 Dual Core Processor Model ADA3800IAA5CU - Retail

I went with the msi vid card because I'm reusing my case, and it has room for the double slot card. I would rather get somthing with this kind of exaust.

If it turns aout that I can run, and not undervolt:

2.1v $254.00 DDR2 800
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail

Then I have extra $ for that. Would be ncie to take advantage of the EPP if its at all worth it.

Looks good, although I still recommend the Seagate 7200.10 250/320GB for another 20-30 bucks over the samsung, since your well under your 1K budget.

Also, if your going 2 slot cooling on the 7600GT, The Gigabyte Silent-PipeII is well... 100% Silent. I have one in my office workstation and its a great card.

Honestly though, you definitely would have no problems with what you have picked out, those are just the only 2 tweaks I would make if I were building your comp.

Overall your build =

lol hate to crap on your analogy but last i checked a new windshield was cheaper and faster than a fender repaint ;)

more like worrying about a burnt out headlight when you have a flat tire :)
