So I came across 3 24" Asus monitors for really cheap and I was wondering what's the best bang for your buck video card available to drive all three for gameplay? I can go SLI, and I'd like to keep it under $300 if possible.

I want to primarily play older games like Skyrim with the hi-res texture pack, Borderlands 2, the Fallout games, the Bioshock games, TF2, and some RTS, in high quality. Maybe some of the newer games at low-med...

An old Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto Dual-Core 3.1GHz will be driving these.

Thanks for the input, as you can tell I've been away from the hardware scene for a while and I'm playing catchup on reviews. I hear next-gen is just weeks away, maybe I should wait until then/BF?

Good luck.

Skyrim and Fallout are a PITA to get working with 3 monitors (requires 3rd party tools)

That said, lots of stuff runs well enough.

I dont know current cards or prices, but my crossfired 6870 cards work ok for most games for 5760x1080 .. it cant handle most modern games with 3 screens ...

Radeon 7950 would probably be a overkill for that processor, but they are cheap atm. You can pick up a used mining card off ebay for about $100 with DOA protection. That is well inside your budget.

If you wanna go new, grab a R9 285.
