Keystone is 14.99 for a 30pk... that is the way to go if you are drinking shitty beer for pong and to get drunk.

I hate miller, bud is alright but keystone is best for the price!

....and still more expensive than 30 Simpler Times.

I don't get it--the numbers are right there. staring all of you in the face. It's easy to see, there is really only one choice in the shitty beer department.

Why do you people keep clinging to these false prophets?

I'm against all non standard measurements. Beer should be single-6-12-18-24. Coffee should come by the pound and 1/2 pound... Companies use non standard amounts for deceptive purposes, and to make it harder to do a direct comparison of products.

Every grocery store around here, on the price tag, has a per weight price in small print. For beer it will say "$0.74/pint." For cereal it'll be "$1.77/lb." And so on.

honestly, what a great idea... you can have 2 nights of meh i had a few, or one night of "yea, i drank a good amount" and they are $1 more than a 12 pk, honestly... why would you not get a 15pk for yourself?

because ill only drink bud light if im already tanked and someone else paid for it.

/good beer ftw
//gimme my 8% brews and i wont need 15 bottles of water to get toasted

Haven't tried Simpler Times (never seen it for sale anywhere, and never been to a trader joes), but Pabst Blue Ribbon is like $15 for a 30 pack. If simpler times is $3 for a 6 pack, then it works out to about the same price, 50 cents each.

PBR is good because they don't put any pollutants in it to make it "smoother" or "drinkable", so it doesn't have any rice or shit in it to ruin it. It may not be "good" beer, but it is still "real" beer.

EDIT: I do plan on picking up some Simpler Times if I ever go to a TJ's... cause it's supposed to be maltier... so I figure what the hell, might be good :)

In a blind test beer snobs fail just as hard as wine snobs.

Blind test of what?

I'll agree that many beers "of the same style" taste similar, but ... the differences between the different styles, and many of the extreme examples that beer snobs like, are quite vast. Even the least trained palate could tell the difference between 60 minute IPA and 120 Minute IPA from Dogfish head ....

You sure you read this in a study and not nothing?

I'm not a snob - I'm of the drink whatever you want.. and barring that what you can afford group, but I would think most people could tell? I'd be interested to see what they did if it actually happened?

Oh, it sucks, of course. that's kinda the point. but you're not going to paying less for a 6.2% beer.

Hey Zin! Thanks for the tip.

I rolled by Trader Joe's and instead of getting a handful of Two-Buck Chucks, I took your recommendation and bought a 6-Pack of Simpler Times' Lager (6.2% abv) and another 6 of Simpler Times' Pilsner (5.4% abv).

Definitely goes down easier than Steel Reserves' 2-1-1.

Cheers!

did you like the pilsner? I've only tried the lager, and I've heard one person here say they prefer pilsner, while a British co-worker preferred the lager (of course...just about all he drinks is lager)

...and if not, learn to bring a calculator.

This, my darlings!

Just pull your fab four function funbox out of your Rick Astley themed fanny pack, put on your taped up tortoise shell glasses, and have at it!

After all, you're already buying bulk light "beer" and worrying mightily about taste a few fucking pennies, so you've already outed yourself and really have no pride left to lose. ;) :D

I haven't tried the pilsners yet, they're cooling in the fridge atm.

As for the lagers. Dude, they are awesome! (For the price.) Simpler Times Lager Beer is a decent/good tasting beer with a non-overpowering after taste that should be the standard for the filler, go-to beer that one could start out their day with. The beer you drink while fishing, lounging at the lake, hanging out at the pool, or doing a free "favor" working on your "friend's" Limewire induced virus issue. It is that good.

I'm surprised I haven't found it before you told me Zin. I've always sampled/bought different beers from the Trader Joe's beer aisle. I also do this at BevMo and at Emilio's Beverage warehouse. I'm trippin' that I've missed this beer at any stores that I frequent.

Thank you for that.

I don't think it's been around that long, and I actually hadn't been to Trader Joe's for some time. it has little exposure, I think.

I must say, I think yoiu're being quite generous with your review! the lager gave me the typical headache that I get when drinking schwilly beer.
