The real genius is their marketing team. This way there are more bud products in the beer shelf space limiting room for their competitors.

Why else would you need 6 pack 8oz cans and bottles, 6 packs of 16ozs, 6 packs of 12 ozs, 12 packs, 15 packs,18 packs, 20 packs, and 24 packs.

Can you do that in your head, in a reasonable time frame while standing in the liquor store? How about a 6 pack of Guinness draught bottles? Those are 10.xOz per bottle. How does that compare to their cans which are 15.xOz per can, and how do they compare with a normal 12 or 16oz container?

Walmart does the math for me. Almost every item has "price per ounce" on the price tag.

:)

'Genius' is marketing this horrific beer in a way that anyone actually buys it in any denomination.

Just because you suck ass at simple arithmetic doesn't mean the rest of us should suffer.

Bullshit. I'm not that bad at math, and it takes some time figuring unlike quantities of material. If you're saying you can do that calculator fast, you're either a savant, or a liar. I'm banking on the latter ;^)

From what I gathered about your posts, you are either (1) not a quantitative person and cannot do math, (2) unable to operate your phone to use a calculator application (I think it is reasonable to assume that the average poster of a tech forum has a mobile phone), and/or (3) you have trouble reading since most chain stores do tend to have price per ounce on the shelf labels.

Also what is up with your sophomoric whining about non-standard beer containers? Is there a standard? Does NIST concern themselves with how many fluid ounces are in a SKU? Really?

You're probably too young to remember, but in years past when you bought a container of anything, you knew exactly how much you were getting based on the container's size. Companies then figured out they could shave some of the ingredients out, keep a similar shape, and make more money based on people's preconceived notions. That's why we have fuckin' cereal boxes that look like giant envelopes. They keep the height, and reduce the depth so they can deceive people into thinking they're getting more than they are. It's a bullshit practice, and needs to be stopped.

It simply requires estimation skills.

To begin with I am not entirely certain why age is relevant nor why you would make a wild-ass assumption about it. Chances are I am on the older side of the bell curve for the typical ATOT poster, but again I do not see the relevancy.

Secondly, as shocking as you may find this but many of "us" consumers can read labels and know amount of product we are buying. Yes companies have been reducing the size of some of their packaged goods, but if you are competent and can read labels I am not certain why you find it so difficult to determine what you are getting. Furthermore in this regards many manufacturers and retailers have been redesigning the shape of their products so as to increase efficiencies in shipping and displaying on the shelf. Ikea is a perfect example of a company that utilizes well designed packaging practices.

Finally who is going to stop what and why? The hell do you expect, some government regulatory agency to standardize container size and shape to make your life "easier" - since apparently the minute amount of time it takes to read the printed amount is taking up entirely too much of your time.

Fundamentally people need to be somewhat responsible for their consumption habits. There are already established regulations concerning pertinent information and, again, many retailers do currently list amount per price on shelfing labels. I am not entirely certain what more do you want.

I enjoy my yearly Christmas Ale, but really my most favorite seasonal brew is their Conway's Irish Ale.

Also, on one hand I do sort of want to be with you in damning seasonal beverages, but on the other hand I think being deprived of them for a certain amount of time makes their brewery nectar taste just that much more sweet.

I'm against all non standard measurements. Beer should be single-6-12-18-24. Coffee should come by the pound and 1/2 pound... Companies use non standard amounts for deceptive purposes, and to make it harder to do a direct comparison of products.

might force you to think a bit huh????

I've spent the last 25 years converting measurement systems, and calculating decimal math in my head. I don't need the shit when I'm out to buy a beer, especially when it's made to be deceitful from the start :^S

rofl...always start a reply off with the obligatory your probably too young......hahahahaaa
all of the above is pure bullshit!! Plain and simple.

You still know mexactly how much you are getting. The label does not lie!
The label says 15.4 ounces and that is what you get....simple...huh??

Your cereal box example is plain ignorance though and through.
People are not stoopid ( well some are like the dude whining about cereal boxes) they know better than to trust the size and shape of an item.....they read the label!!

I'd figure ATOT to nerd-up beer buying.

Buy what you want and drink them.

Put the graphing calculator away.

he probably still gets confused while walking around the highschool hallways by padded bras, stuffed bras, and real ones... he confuses them for all the same thing because the outer appearance looks similar... but he doesnt investigate.
