Buccaneer = A "traditional" pirate. Goes after all ships regardless of their nationality
Raider = A buccaneer that is sponsored by some country. Doesn't act against ships of the sponsoring nation, but pays extra attention to the ships of the sponsors enemy
That is the difference if I remember correctly
They teach the young in Finland about proper pirate identification technique?
You'd be surprised![]()

The Autumn Wind
The Autumn Wind is a pirate
Blustering in from sea
With a rollicking song he sweeps along
swaggering boisterously
His face is weather beaten
He wears a hooded sash
With his silver hat about his head
And a bristly black moustache
He growls as he storms the country
A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold
The Autumn wind is a Raider
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.
Actually, Romo played his first 6 years in the league with Rice and the 49ers and has a couple of Superbowl rings from that period to go along with the two he got later at Denver.Originally posted by: Tripleshot
Very Nice. Thank you. I am going to print this up on parchment with modofied font and Raiders logo and if I can find a good clipart or pic of a "raider", I'll include that as well , for a gift to the Raider fan in my family. Would be a nice momento if the Raiders win for him.
If they do win, it will be because of a 49er and a Bronco that got em there, Rice and Romo!![]()
Well being San Fran is the capitol of em though, lets just give the Raiders the crown on that oneOriginally posted by: DevilsAdvocate
Soooooo....which one is a butt-pirate?
Hmmmm..... This is a tough one. The Raiders could be considered butt pirates, given Oakland's close proximity to San Francisco...
but then again - Tampa is awfully close to Key West, so they could be given to butt piracy, as well...
I guess there are no easy answers.

I am almost afraid to ask what I would be "surprised" at, but, what else would surprise me about your Finnish education ?
