Bubble in Corner of Screen

the DRIZZLE

Platinum Member
I bought an HP laptop a few months ago. I don't really use it much as its a secondary computer for me. But theres one problem that drives me nuts whenever I do use it. Theres a bubble in the lower right corner of the screen, like the remnant of a pop up notification or something that I can't get rid of. Heres a link to a screen shot. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_-2yzhXUjaes/TNgcoR7u8kI/AAAAAAAAAOY/MNHc4ASvCoE/screen.jpg

Its definitely not a problem with the LCD as is shows up on an external monitor and a screen cap. I suspect the problem is linked to HP's bloatware but I really have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

does it reappear after a reboot? it could be some kind of video card glitch...

perhaps try updating all drivers?

I would go through and turn off all the extra notification icons in the start menu to see if that took care of it. Or disable some start up programs.

I was thinking the same thing. Windows says the drivers are up to date but thats usually not the best way to update them anyway. I will try to manually update the drivers tomorrow and see what happens. If I can't figure out what it is I may just format and install a clean copy of windows and see if that fixes it.

All I could see in your pic was the remnant or vestige of a radio button. Does that appear on the desktop as well? Looks to me like a Google problem.

If an HP, for sure you need to spend some time and remove all the bloatware and see what happens. They pack on all kinds of crap.

Does it show up if you boot the computer into safe mode?

If not, I'd start by going through and disabling startup applications one at a time until you find the one creating the problem.

You mean the sdtuff your too lazy to take off your system......
I have used HP computers for ever and no problems with removing the stuff I don`t want to use...

Get off your sorry rear end and take the "bloatware" off....sad
