Anyone heard of this guy? They just cancelled our local morning radio show here in Hartford, CT. We had Dee Snider, formerly of Twisted Sister, doing the morning radio, but they cancelled his show and are airing commercials for this dude.

Any comments on him?

We used to but they dropped them. We get Stern on the hard rock station. This one is more of the "New Rock" stuff. Of course we've got all the other lame ass morning shows on the pop/hip-hop stations, and I'm not listening to them OR stern...can't stand either.

Stern was the first. This guy is yet another copycat that won't succeed.

I loved him when I was visting Tampa. His show was a breath of fresh air after 3 years of Armed Forces Radio in Okinawa. Can a DJ actually have a negative personality quotient?!? Anyway, I am sure if Ned Flanders were to host a radio show it would be better than an AFN broadcast.

Bubba was very raunchy and rude. Just what ya need in a radio show. I am sure he irked some and offended most. You want intelligence, listen to NPR, you want Jack@ss on the radio, listen to Bubba

I'm in Hartford too. I must admit that I am a faithful Stern listener, but I would listen to Dee when I wanted to hear more of a local morning show. It's a shame they let him go, to bring in this jackass Bubba. He's another in the long line of Stern clones. CheapChannel killed WHCN, and now they're going to do the same thing with Radio-10Bore. Dee's Radio Peeps is a good site to keep informed of where he will end up. This is his message from the main page:

Dear Peeps,

As of approxiamately 1pm on Thursday August 22, Dee Snider Radio ceased being a part of Clear Channel Communications and broadcasting on WMRQ and WXLR. The reasons are long and involved. I will explain it all to you in detail, but I ask your patience. This close to the event, there are too many emotions involved to give a clear and objective explanation that you deserve. I am going away for a week with my family on vacation (as planned) and when I return, after Labor Day, I will sit down with a clearer head and fill you all in.

Know this--this is not the end of DSR, we (you and the show) will spend time together again and I/we thank everyone of you for being the best and most loyal radio audience out there. Any station that you tune into in the interim is lucky to have you as a listner.

Enjoy your holidays! Talk to you after mine! Invictus!

Dee

Actually Bubba has been around for a few years now. He used to be on late night on QFM96 out of Columbus Oh. about 4-5 years ago. Raunchy as all hell but funny IMO. They cancelled the show about 2 years ago :(....funny stuff

I'm from tampa bay and listen to Bubba every day, I like him because he's funny and not all about himself like stern is.
I don't know how well he'll do up north, I don't know if I'd want to hear soem DJ not from my city

he didn't kill a pig, some hunters brought in a pig to have a BBQ in the radio station parking lot( for listeners), they killed the pig and roasted it. Bubba was in the studio broadcasting it
as part of the slaughter they castrated the pig before killing it, (some hunter thign about the hormones tainting the meat). that's what the animal lovers freaked out over.

Some of the commercials they're playing for him are funny as hell, but I dunno if it's the kinda stuff that I'll be able to listen to every day or something I'll get sick of...Guess I'll find out on Tuesday!
