'Bout time...guess they listened to all the crap they were getting for that cheap looking crap. Now it actually looks decent.

Chevrolet?s Avalanche will undergo plastic surgery in the 2003 model year as the division offers a version of the versatile pickup/SUV without the extensive plastic cladding standard in its first year of production. Minus the cladding, the Avalanche Without Body Hardware will enter production early in 2003. Other Avalanches will get darker-grey trim. All the trucks will sport passenger-sensing airbags, and new options including XM satellite radio, adjustable pedals, a DVD entertainments system and new colors.

It's about halfway down the page.

looks much much better!

from the link:

"The Excursion, Ford's largest SUV, was criticized at its 1999 introduction as too large and too fuel-efficient"

looks like they need an editor

This and the Explorer Sport Trac are the only 2 trucks id ever consider buying.
Unfortunately, due to $ restraints, I won't be buying either one. Ah well.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind driving it now either. My dad is looking for a replacement for his '97 F-150....

Awww man, now that Chevy is getting rid of the plastic on their Avalanche, I guess we don't have to recycle those milk jugs anymore.

Well, I'll be a stick in the mud I guess! I liked the plastic cladding. Looks like it's missing something without it. Not quite as distinctive. Course, with everybody owning one now, I wouldn't bother getting one if I had the cash. What I REALLY want is an H2 Hummer!!! Mwahahaha! Guess I'll keep saving up pennies in my jar here...

It looks like a crew cab version of the 2003 Silverado is all now. I like the 2003 Sierra clips myself

I don't like all the new computer crap they are sticking in the new one's anyway, that auto sensing crap is just more stuff to go wrong... I like the old turn key method.

I don't know why I complain even with all the computerized crap I can still diagnose, repair and program mine... the people that can't though.. I feel sorry for you if anything goes wrong ;)
