BTX, what do you know about it?

Other than the Lian Li and Coolermaster CM stacker, will a run of the mill case be backward compatable with ATX Hardware (motherboard).

it's a piece of sh!t

unnecessary ; intel lies about extra cooling cuz their cooling on atx blowssssss and they need moreeeeeeeeeeee hahaha pathetic excuse to switch to new form factor.

screw that

i will never get btx because it's a waste of money and atx is more than enough for my needs.

its crap

intel only created it because their whole performance = clock speed theory backfired on them when heat became an issue

I believe there is one BTX case which is reversible to ATX. It's pointless right now.

I know that CM Stacker is reversable, but does the BTX specifiaction allow the use of an ATX motherboard. Will an ATX motherboard fit in a white box generic BTX case?

I wouldn't think a standard ATX motherboard would fit in a BTX case, as it would entirely defeat the purpose anyway. BTX repositions things on the motherboard to theoreticly improve airflow to the places needed most. I wouldn't bother getting anything BTX any time soon, as there is not real reason to. It's an attempt at helping to keep the power hungry prescott oven running a bit cooler. Not that it isn't taking every thing I dish out to it, but it does run a tad warm for my tastes.

BTX mounts the motherboards so that in order to open the case, with the bezel facing the front you would remove the right side panel on BTX and the left side panel on ATX the only differance I read some where is they fliped the motherboard around upside down; so the Expansion slots are on the bottom and cpu on the top for ATX and btx is reversed. That is why it is mounted on the other side. I just wonder if the IO panel and mounting holes remained the same. In theroy it should still work, but I do not know this to be 100% true or not.

BTX also called for a differant motherboard pcb layout as well, with the cpu mounted to the front of the case for the freshest air.

Well, I would like to know if I could keep this case and use it with BTX hardware or could I buy a BTX Spec case and Use AMD ATX hardware.

The verdict is still up in the air when it comes to btx so far it has gotten a lot of mixed results. so far only intel is giving it praise and everyone else is doing a wait and see.

and as I know of so far it is not backward compatible as of yet will see.

Not backwards compatible, and IBM's been making systems with "front CPU" since back in the P2 era. RAM and CPU were lined right up against a 92mm fan.
