This new BTX form factor in the article on the front page looks like junk to me. It is designed for the same type of hulking oversized cases. I thought with PCI Express the motherboards were suppose to get smaller?????

More Junk produced under pressure from OEM Designers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The main design concept behind BTX is the idea that CPUs will be pumping out well over 100 W of heat, and that graphics cards will be close behind.

There is a huge amount of space allocated in the BTX design for the CPU heatsink, and that is why BTX is bigger. There are micro and small-form factor variants of BTX which make a number of compromises to get the size down.
