BTX Case with an ATX Power Supply?

I have a BTX form-factor case from Dell, and I'm looking to replace its paltry 300W of power. Is it safe to buy any "ATX" labeled power supply? I don't have an extra one in hand, so I can't test how it fits, but the ATX/BTX PSUs featured on newegg are more expensive than the plainly marked ATX ones.

I checked wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTX_%28form_factor%29), and it sounds like ATX power supplies will work, but then why are a few power supplies marked as ATX/BTX or even exclusively BTX?

BTX is meant to use the same power supplies as ATX. I suspect a few manufacturers just decided to throw "BTX compatible" onto their feature list.

Not all ATX power supplies will work Dell systems, most will, but not all. I had the same issue(bought a scratch/dent GX 620 dirt cheap), and I googled it. The OCZ Modstream has worked well for me.

I was just about to buy the OCZ Modstream 450W, but I decided on a Rosewill 550W because I think for me it?s a better value.

So I wound up disassembling an old ATX build and plopping in that 400W ATX PSU just to see if it would fit, and it did. Went on to purchase the 550W Rosewill I mentioned earlier for its better performance and modular cabling (Dell doesn?t leave much room for unused cables).

Pretty excited. All of my USB devices work now, and I even think my computer is running faster overall, but that could just be in my head.

Thanks!
