Actually, I'm a former Wichitan, but my job takes me there weekly. I lived there while Rader was terrorizing the place, but being a little kid, I had no idea what was going on.

Sick and disturbed but incredibly intelligent. The chief investigator said on Dateline that he considers BTK an idiot, a baffoon. Yeah, but they couldn't catch him for 30 years? "He just got lucky" they said. He wanted to get caught. Part of the whole game was taunting them and giving them little clues. It's like when you are joking with friends and let slip that it's someone's birthday and you say "oops!". He sent them all sorts of Sherlock Holmes style clues and they still couldn't get it.
