ARGH running 2.2, when I press the button my Plantronic Discovery 925 headset the phone beeps and goes into voice dial mode. But I get no audible feedback in my headset telling me anything. I said "call [contact name]" still nothing, so I look at the screen and it's asking me to select which number for that contact to dial. Now I'm assuming I should be getting some spoken prompts in my headset, but maybe not? When I get the screen asking which number, it won't dial if I say "call mobile" or "call home" I got to physically press the button.

My headset is paired with my phone, besides that I don't see any BT settings. Anyone here with an Android running 2.2 who uses a BT headset care to chime in?

"Call John Doe At Home" - "Call John Doe on Cell Phone"

Works for me.

What phone are you using? Are you rooted and running a different ROM from stock?

On my EVO the BT dialing through my plantronics works pretty well on a stock ROM and on Fresh 3.2 - both of which have Sense still on the phone. I hold down the button for a second, hear "Speak Now" prompting me to talk and see a "Bluetooth Dialing" prompt on the screen, say my command, and then it reads me back what it thinks I've said and dials (I've yet to figure out whether I can cancel a wrongly interpreted command via voice though).

I had been running CyanogenMod6 on my EVO and BT dialing was completely not working at all. I'd get no voice prompt, the screen prompt was showing simply "voice dialing" rather than specifically bluetooth dialing, and the speech recognition was completely worthless because it never recognized anything I said. I had to move on from Cyanogen at that point (it had other issues on my phone to compound the BT problems).
