BT & BT 120 VX

TT has an upgrade model for the BT...the BT 120 VX.......

Whats the difference????
Is the Fan Controller the only difference????

Or the VX is bigger than the original BT??????

AM2 compatiblity, fan operates from 1300 RPM to 2000 RPM, rated at 86.5 CFM maximum, which is 32 CFM more than the original Big Typhoon?s. Also comes with a black coloured fan grill and a built-in fan controller on the fan itself.

Actually there is not any difference other than the fan controller and cosmetic differences......

There is the law of diminishing returns when it comes to heatsinks and fans.....

All heatsinks see no decrease in temps once the CFM hits somewhere between 40CFM -- 55CFM.....

😀

I'm still not sure what that ones about... 😕

Hmm should I bother?.....yea why not 🙂

From the PC Modding Malaysia site...
At 1500rpm, the Big Typhoon VX was easily the coolest and most silent CPU cooler in this round. Finally, we hooked up a 120mm NMB fan on both Big Typhoon VX and SI-120. The thicker NMB fan helped to shave another 1ºC on the Big Typhoon VX at full load but didn?t make much difference for the SI-120.....
Big Typhoon VX is easily the most powerful cooler in its class as we recorded only 64ºC at full load, versus 67ºC by the Ultra-90 and 68ºC by the SI-120. The better NMB fan helped to shave another 2ºC from the load temperature resulting in 62ºC load temperature......This really shows that the Big Typhoon VX can perform better with a powerful 120mm fan....

Plus Big Typhoon VX supports socket AM2 😉

The VX looks MUCH easier to install than the "classic" BT. Boy is that thing a pain to install...
