For Christmas, I would like a stable computer (No such thing, laughed Santa). Up until recently, Ive been using the Nvidia Detonator 12.90 drivers without a hitch. Deciding to move with the times, I tried 22.40, 22.50, 23.10, 23.11 (& any inbetween, including offical Elsa ones), all gave me the same results: vxd errors on reboot, or bsod as soon as I tried to load a program or install anything from CD. Not being one to give up easily, I dismantled my system, reformatted the hard drive, and reinstalled windows. On installing any of the above drivers my system worked fine, no hitches, then I installed my sound card, Soundblaster Audigy (latest Drivers), and whammy, vxd errors and bsod's all over the place. Can only assume, its a driver issue or an IRQ conflict (lost my motherboard manual, so not sure what PCI slots are sharing resources) - Audigy is currently in PCI slot 2. According to System Information, I have no IRQ conflicts - the audigy is assigned IRQ 5 (along with ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering) and the video card IRQ 10 (along with CPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering). All drivers in my system, including motherboard bios, are current. If any one can help/point me in the right direction, it would be most appreciated!
