BSOD with Radeon 6950

These just started happening to me around the end of April. BSOD happens in the ATI video drive when the system has been idle for a few minutes, with an error message that says something along the lines of "attempt to reset video card timed out after 30 seconds". BSODs are happening probably twice a week.

Have tried-
Totally stripping all ATI drivers from the system and reinstalling.
Running memtest to see if the system memory may be dying.
Stress testing the GPU with Furmark.

I'm sort of at a loss on this one. I hadn't upgraded drivers, changed hardware, or anything before the blue screens started. Have no problems whatsoever while actually gaming or doing anything else stressful on the system. The blue screens *only* happen when it is idle. I'm open to any suggestions?

Perhaps dust has created a bog in your heatsink.

Your card may be dying. You could try more voltage, both 2D and 3D and see if it helps, but that's not a true "solution" so you may have to RMA.

Actually that sounds like a virus more than anything else. try reformatting. I mean it's pretty easy these days to reformat, takes like 30 mins.
