BSOD when ever DirectX kicks in?

Hello anandtech people

Today I played some Skyrim at my spare time, and all of a sudden the computer restarted,
I didn't think much of it, as it happened before from time to time, but this time, this time it's different.
Now, (after this initial reset) every time DirectX kicks in (I think), the computer reset itself.
Even playing a video, in either Windows media player or MPC-HC resets the computer immediately.
I can open Skyrim again and be on the main menu, but as soon as I load a save game,
the computer resets itself.

Both CPU and my GPU are at stock speed

Some history:
I don't know if it's related, but, I updated my GPU drivers and the DirectX about three weeks ago,
And until today, I had no problems at all, it really started all of a sudden.
Other than that, nothing else I can think of.

What I tried until now
I first tried to play a video file using MPC_HC in safe mode, and i got this error: "d3derr_notavailable"

then, I completely removed the GPU drivers; I uninstalled the AMD catalyst control center,
did a restart, deleted all AMD/ATI folders, removed all related registry keys,
and restarted the computer again. I then, tried to play the video with out installing the GPU drivers
just to see what happens, but, no luck, even with out drivers, the computer reset itself.

I tried updating DirectX, but the web installer refuse to download any update, saying:
"Setup could not download the file, please retry again later or check network connection"
I also tried to update via the directx_Jun2010_redist, it install some files, but the problem remain.

The problem remain also after updating to the latest AMD catalyst drivers.
It is important to note that before this happened, every thing was OK, both MPC-HC
and playing games, everything was smooth. I have no idea why it happened all of a sudden.
I am trying to fix this issue for the past 5 hours and just can't understand the culprit.

Apart from that the computer is fine, I can surf the web, open pictures,
I can watch youtube and online flash banners also seem to work.

Also, I don't know if it's related, but I tried now to play an flv file using MPC-HC and a quick time video, both work fine,
probably because they are not directx related (as opposed to the mp4 that reset the computer?).
And, as soon as the video played the keyboard stopped working, I had to fiddle with it's USB cable for a few minutes
until it worked again, the keybpard thing happened the first time also, I just don't know if it's related.

System and error info
Attached is DXdiag, XML and DMP of the BSOD, additional info text file.

SPECS:
OS: Win 7 SP1
MOBO: ASUS P5Q PRO
CPU: Q9450 @ 2.66GHz (stock speed)
GPU: Gigabyte 4870 512mb (stock speed), AMD catalyst ver 13.1
RAM: G.skill DDR2 4096MB 800MHZ PI CL4-4-4-12
PSU: SeaSonic M12II 500W

Hope to solve this soon, as I can't even work now (i have some video edits to do)
Any help is greatly appreciated! if you need more info just ask.

Thank you in advance,
Bez.

-EDIT-
I wanted to post the DXdiag directly in here in case any of you don't want to download a zip file
but i can't since it tells me that: "You have included 125 images in your message"
so... sorry :(

-EDIT 2 -
VLC, can play any video file with out causing the computer to restart,
I understand it's because it's using it's own codecs, so is that a sign that it is really a DirectX software issue?

Also here are tempratures of both the CPU and GPU at idle state (can't do the under load, since the computer immediately restarts while playing a game)

While it's possible it's a software issue, at this point I honestly have my doubts. Grab a spare HDD or something and try a fresh install of Windows, but I think you're going to have to start looking at a hardware problem. A software issue should trigger a BSOD, not an immediate reset.

run crystal disk to check for HD issues
run memtest for ram check

no errors? I'd probably do like Virge says and put a clean windows install on to see if that clears it up.

If you're getting a normal BSOD, that set of steps should keep your PC from rebooting (why BSODs ever were set to immediately reboot, I'll never know), which yes, does make a difference. A hardware error forcing a reboot may cause a BSOD first, but if it reboots w/o the normal setting to do so, then something is really borked.

Aside from that, +1 to both of the prior replies.

I'll tell you. It's the same reason known extensions are hidden by default, and the same reason the AppData folder is hidden by default, and the same reason Windows 8 came out.
