It's a computer of a friend of mine...and she brought it over cuz she kept getting bsod's whenever she connected to the internet. It doesn't BSOD right away...15-30 minutes into being online...the BSOD shows up saying the program has been terminated. Here's what she has...

HP Pavillion...AMD K6..don't know the speed...400 i think...
64 stick RAM pc 100 (i'm thinking this might be it)
13 gig. HD 5400 RPM
POS PSU...
some cheap 56K modem
OS is win98....

MUch help needed...thanks in advance!

Does it happen with all browsers or is it just when she is in Internet Explorer or Netscape? Have you tried a less common browser like Opera to see if it still does it? If it doesn't continue with a different browser then it is a software issue.

Well, if you just did a clean install of Win98, and BSOD only happens when the box is on the Internet, sounds like a driver issue -- almost certainly the video driver. DirectX and other features of the OS can really "exercise" the video subsystem.

It might be really helpful to know exactly what the BSOD says.

Ya...i told her to write it down...she took it home and will bring it back tonite...thanks for helping you guys...stay with me...and i'll have the error msg up soon. Thanks

Jeff
