BSOD right before Windows Installation

Hey guys, I'm having a problem setting up my new rig. I just finished hooking it up; it posts, gets into BIOS fine, and boots from my Windows XP Pro CD to begin installation. However, after it finishes detecting hardware/loading drivers and gets to the "Hit Enter to Install Windows" it blue screens as soon as I hit enter.

Here are my specs:
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
BFG GeForce 6800GT OC
1GB (2x512) OCZ PC3200 Value VX
Western Digital 36.7GB SATA Raptor

All of my settings are currently at default, including the original BIOS. Note, the windows installation disk contains Service Pack 1a.

What could the problem be? What should I try to resolve this? Thanks in advance.
 
What brand and model is your power supply, and what voltage are you giving the memory modules?

Also, since WinXP SP1 is a complete sitting duck for worm attacks, do you have a router to provide firewalling during the vulnerable just-built stage of Windows Setup?
 
I have an OCZ 520W PowerStream PSU. Yes, I do have a router with firewall security. I'm also planning on upgrading to SP2 as soon as I get windows installed--I just can't get that far at the moment 🙁. By the way, the BSOD is spitting out this error: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
 
My first guess is that at stock settings, your mobo is starving the RAM for voltage. Crank it up to 2.8 volts and see if it likes that better, won't take long to find out. Also, if you have any auxiliary cards in there, take them out for now, and check the underside of the CD for scratches or smudges. Good luck! 🙂

Yeah, the RAM wasn't getting enough voltage; I bumped the voltage up to 2.8 and windows installed in like 8 minutes 🙂. Thanks a ton.
