BSOD right after Windows 7 starts; happened out of nowhere

I've been running this machine (older Intel Core 2 Duo at 3.5GHz, GTX 465, 4GB RAM, etc) and I've really had no problems with it at all.

Last night I reset and as soon as Windows started to load, I got a quick BSOD and the computer reset. This continued until I powered off.

Now, I can't get into Windows 7 or Windows 7 safe mode without this BSOD popping up and restarting the system. Anyone have idea what could cause this?

P.S. No new software had been installed in the previous 8 days so the chances of it being malware or a virus are pretty slim, I think.

I'm thinking that the overclock wasn't 100% stable, and a crucial .dll file got corrupted, and there's not a way to boot up Windows again.

Ask me how I know this is possible 😉

That's actually the same issue I figured, I had this same type of thing happen back in the AMD K6-2 days. So what's the next option, just simply reformat Windows and not go that high anymore?

I'd boot to the Win7 DVD, and try repairing from there. Downclock a bit before you do that though. Not necessarily to stock, but a bit lower at least.
