Hi,

Sorry for making this my first post here but I'm in need of some assistance.

Here are the specs of my computer I built about a month ago:

AMD X2 3800
ASUS A8N-SLI
1 GB Corsair Value Select RAM
Evga 7800GT PCI-e
200 GB SATA Seagate HD

Now for my problem, every once and a while, actually rather frequently my computer blue screens. Here's the blue screen I get, sorry for the flash:

BSoD

The problem is I have no idea what if anything the information on the screen means. So I was wondering what is going on, has anyone else with a similar setup had this problem, and lastly, what can I do to solve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are two basic possiblilities, hardware and software.

Regarding hardware, did you try any of the recommendations on that blue screen, such as disabling or unplugging hardware and BIOS and vid memory caching?

For software, if you haven't already done so, get the free spyware removers, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy, and run both of them. Then some good diagnostic and registry cleanup tools could be useful. Examples are Norton Win Doctor (in System Works) and Registry Mechanic. Sometimes, the registry gets burdened with extra crud such as broken links and other extraneous entries. Cleaning them up may help.
