I just built my first pc and have enjoyed it overall however I have been having issues with bsod. This mainly happens when I have spotify and chrome open so I believe it has something to do with my RAM. However, it also occurred once when playing CS:GO the error was BAD POOL CALLER. One also occurred when playing Arma 3 but has not occurred in a while so I cannot recall the exact name. The most recent one however was BAD MEMORY MANAGEMENT. I also have gotten quite a few force closes of Arma saying access code violation. Finally I ran the sys check in the command prompt and it got about 40% done then it says "windows resource protection could not perform the task" I am trying to provide all the information I possibly can however, I am still new to this so if you need any more information just tell me what to do and I will provide what I can. My specs are:
MSI Z97 PC MATE
Intel core I5-4460 @ 3.3 Ghz
Geforce Gtx 970
8gb (2 4 gb sticks) of corsair vengeance ddr3 1600 mhz RAM
1 tb wd blue
EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

On the surface, it sounds like the memory timings could be a bit tight for what they are rated. Did you specify anything special in the BIOS? or are you running SPD?

You can run a program like CPU-Z to see for sure.
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.73-en.exe

The Memory tab will tell you what speed and timings you are currently running, and the SPD tab will tell you what you stick it rated for at different speeds. If your Memory is running lower timings than the SPD tab says it's rated for, you may want to go into the BIOS and loosen things up.

Apologies in advance if this is over-simplified.

Definitely sounds like either your ram is failing or the timings are not right.

Download this free program to test your ram:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/memtest86.html

MemTest86 is memory testing software for computers. It boots from a USB flash drive or DVD and tests the RAM in your computer for faults using a series of comprehensive algorithms and test patterns.

I also agree that you should run memtest, more than one pass, and see if any errors turn up.

I did not specify anything special in the BIOS, I have no idea what SPD is, and I have CPU-Z I look at the Memory and the SPD tab but I have very little knowledge of what this all means. Thanks for helping me out I am still new to all this and I am trying to learn as much as possible. I ran MEM test and got 2 errors but don't know what they mean exactly.

Take out one stick and run Memtest again. Then swap and do the same with the other. Let us know the results.

Like Ketchup said, you need to now test each stick one at a time. Most likely it's just one of the sticks that is going bad.

Don't bother figuring out memtest86 errors. The entire point of the memtest stress bench is that it has to pass with 0(zero) errors. One tinny memtest error is more than enough for the entire system to go berserk while the OS is running. It means that the data gets corrupted in RAM. You're on the right track, just follow the above steps.
