BSOD - "IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO"

My computer has been stable, solid for months. In the last week or so, I've had multiple BSOD's, most of them being this error listed above. I've also had some with "usbport.sys" or something similar listed as the offending file. I would assume there is something with the USB controllers, or USB devices attached (keyboard, mouse, printer). I'm just confused as to what is causing it.

The only thing that's changed in the last 2 months is that I bought a Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard, from previously using a Microsoft Office Keyboard. Only thing that's changed...could this be it?

Any input is appreciated.

you can run a windows setup and select the R option for repair if it gives you that option, sometimes i see it, sometimes i dont, but it just replaces teh important system files and everything is left just as you had it before. system restore might fix it too

Yes, a new USB device could definitely cause it. Do you have the latest drivers installed for your device? Is your Windows completely up-to-date? Make sure your other drivers (motherboard, video card, sound card, etc.) are up-to-date as well.

I've updated all the drivers, re-installed Windows XP, so we'll see how it turns out. My gut instinct tells me that it's the RAM, since there have been other BSOD errors, not related to the USB ports...

*UPDATE* still no luck, still getting the IRQL LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO error message. frustrating!

MemTest should allow you to confirm or deny that it's a RAM problem.

I ran Memtest overnight last night, came up this morning @ something like 4800% complete, no errors....

I do have it overclocked by 15% (230 mhz from 200), maybe the timings are just off or something. I adjusted the multiplier on my Athlon 64 down, hopefully the reduced DDR speed will = more stability...it's just funny how I've been running this system for months, and all of a sudden it craps out.
