BSOD before XP OS install

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forums and I have a slight problem.

I recently built a comp rig. Here are the specs:

MoBo: ECS GF8200A Socket AM2+ (AMD) V1.0
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5000+ Socket AM2 CPU
RAM: Kingston 1024MB PC5400 DDR 667MHZ x 2
No vid card in yet
No sound card in yet
Sony Optical CD Drive
120GB Western Digital HD IDE

Everything is installed properly and running. The Sony CD Drive is plugged in via SATA and the HD is plugged in via IDE. However, when I want to install Windows XP it will bring me to set up screen for about 10 seconds and then BSOD me every time with this error:

"A problem has..." and ends with this error code:

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

I have no idea what to do and I am very frustrated. I have goggled this error code but still can't seem to find a solution. I have turned to the brains on this forums. Please help me out. Thank you!

try testing for a bad memory module, test each one separetly in the system to see if that will cure your BSOD issue.. Which version of XP are you installing with? Is it the orignal? SP1, SP2, or SP3? If it an orignal XP disc, if you have a spare computer with a cd-burner, create a new XP disc with service pack 2 slipsteam into it.. nlite has a great utility for doing this

Nlite

Try changing the ide hard drive jumper setting using alternate jumper setting e.g. if it CS try Master.
